The Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh is gearing up to inaugurate a staggering number of over 14,000 projects valued at more than Rs. 10 trillion during the groundbreaking ceremony (GBC) in Lucknow on February 19, anticipated to be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
These projects, spanning various industrial, services, and infrastructure sectors, are set to be developed by both domestic and international companies. This announcement follows the success of the mega UP Global Investors Summit (GIS) in February 2023, which secured over 27,000 projects amounting to Rs 40 trillion.
UPs Industrial Development and Export Promotion Minister, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, highlighted that these initiatives are projected to generate approximately 3.4 million new jobs. He emphasized Uttar Pradeshs status as a preferred investment destination, attributing it to the states pro-industry policies and business-friendly environment.
Nandi reaffirmed the governments commitment to ensuring the timely completion of these projects, aiming to propel industrial growth and advance the states ambition of achieving a trillion-dollar economy in the near future.
Top industrialists and business leaders including Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, N Chandrasekaran, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Sanjiv Puri, and Yusuff Ali have been invited to the event. Moreover, global investors such as J B Park, Daniel Bircher, Douglas Stuart Elliott, and Benoit Renard are also expected to participate.
The UP State Industrial Development Authority leads the GBC initiative with 3,160 projects amounting to Rs.1.42 trillion, followed by the renewable energy sector with 177 projects worth Rs. 1.24 trillion. Notable allocations include Rs. 72,000 crore for projects in the Noida region, Rs. 62,000 crore for the information technology & electronics department, Rs. 60,000 crore each for horticulture and energy departments, and Rs 56,000 crore for housing projects. |
