Commissioning tests for the first group (60 MW) started in December 2023
According to an update of the Nachtigal hydroelectric project (420 MW) communicated by NHPC (project company) to Energies Media, the “final commissioning” of the first of the seven groups of the dam is expected during the first quarter of 2024. The operation will be formalized by the signing of the commissioning certificate
Commissioning tests of the first group started on December 26, according to Nachtigal Hydro Power Company .
The energy will be injected into the public distribution network managed by the company Eneo.
The overall progress rate of the project was estimated at 92% in December 2023. The completion of the project is scheduled for this year 2024.
With 420 MW of installed power, the Nachtigal dam will ensure approximately 30% of Cameroons electricity production when delivered. Part of the energy produced, i.e. 100 MW, will be exported to Chad . |
