ReNew Energy Global plc , India’s leading decarbonisation solutions company, has forged a strategic partnership with the Jaipur Literature Festival to fuel the event with renewable energy. The collaboration, aimed at promoting environmentally responsible cultural events, encompasses the 2024 Festival and potential future editions over the next decade.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series Jaipur Literature Festival, now in its 17th year, is set to take place from February 1st to 5th at Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur. Notable speakers such as former Governor of West Bengal Gopalkrishna Gandhi, renowned Classicist Mary Beard, and bestselling author Bonnie Garmus will grace the event.
Through this alliance, ReNew pledges to power the 2024 festival entirely with renewable energy, marking a significant stride in its mission to foster sustainable practices. With a focus on engaging youth and civil society members, ReNew aims to stimulate dialogue on energy consciousness and carbon reduction. The company already contributes 1.9% of India’s total installed power capacity, sufficient to supply clean energy to 5 million households annually.
Moreover, ReNew will extend its expertise to the Festival organizers to implement sustainable measures and establish a greening framework aligned with the goals of Mission LiFE, an India-led environmental movement. Efforts will be directed towards minimizing plastic usage, adopting sustainable sourcing practices, and reducing the event’s carbon footprint.
This strategic collaboration underscores ReNew’s commitment to a cleaner future and serves as a model for responsible and impactful partnerships. The long-term vision involves progressively greening the Festival, ultimately achieving carbon and plastic neutrality with the assistance of ReNew’s proficiency in the clean energy sector.
