Work Detail Piedmont Community College (PCC) and Cypress Creek Renewables (Cypress Creek) have announced a partnership aimed at addressing the growing workforce needs of the energy industry. Cypress Creek has provided $25,000 in funding to PCC for programs focused on preparing students for careers in solar energy. Dr. Pamela G. Senegal, President of PCC, expressed gratitude for Cypress Creek’s donation, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in workforce development. She stated, “We are grateful to Cypress Creek Renewables for their donation, and we look forward to this collaboration as we join forces in preparing the workforce for careers in solar energy.” The donation from Cypress Creek includes $20,000 allocated for state-of-the-art equipment to enhance PCC’s existing electrical training program. Additionally, funds will support digital marketing campaigns for PCC’s Electrical Power Production, Welding, Mechatronics, and Industrial Systems Technology programs. An additional $5,000 was donated to the existing Pacer Promise Endowment for curriculum and continuing education student scholarships. Harrison Cole, Senior Project Developer at Cypress Creek, underscored the importance of long-term partnerships that benefit communities and address the industry’s future workforce needs. He stated, “We are excited that our collaboration with Piedmont Community College will help bolster their existing programs that train much-needed electricians and other trades, and we look forward to creating additional initiatives that will benefit Person County.” The partnership between PCC and Cypress Creek Renewables signifies a commitment to addressing the workforce demands of the energy sector while providing educational opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in solar energy.
