Work Detail Christen Sveaas’ Viking Supply Ships is selling its ownership stake in two remaining platform supply vessels. The Swedish OSV player has terminated the management agreements for the 2021-built Cooper Viking and Coey Viking and invoked a put option on the shares in the vessels’ owning company. The ships were acquired in partnership with funds managed by Borealis Maritime in 2019, with Viking Supply holding a 30% stake in the assets. The Cooper Viking is currently fixed to Vår Energi until July 27, while the Coey Viking has a long-term contract with Harbour Energy at least until December 2027. In addition to the PSV duo, Viking Supply Ships currently has six AHTS vessels in its fleet, and five Swedish state-owned icebreakers under operational management. The Stenungsund-based company said the sale of the PSVs stake, set to close no later than the second quarter of 2024, should result in earnings of about $8.5m, and have a positive liquidity effect of $17.5m.
