The Government of La Pampa made official the extension "until further notice" of the tender for the work of the new Santa Rosa Bus Terminal.
He announced it in an offprint of the Official Gazette published last Tuesday, January 16.
This decision was made at the request of the provinces Chamber of Construction. Initially it had been reported that this organization had asked to suspend it for 90 days, but according to the official publication there is no new date for now.
The work has an official budget of $10,003,461,015.82, a completion period of 600 calendar days, and the opening of proposals was initially scheduled for this Wednesday the 24th.
For now, it is a real unknown whether it will really come to fruition: it was planned to be carried out with provincial and national funds, but the Milei Government has already anticipated that it will not put a weight on public works.
The Government received the request through a note signed by Adrián Pérez Habiaga, president of the Argentine Chamber of Construction, La Pampa delegation, in which he states that "as is public knowledge, it occurred during the month of "December a strong devaluation of the currency against the dollar, strongly deepening the imbalances that companies in the sector had been suffering."
The Construction Chamber indicated that many of the inputs it requires are imported and therefore values ??referenced in dollars, after which they maintain that they "were showing a marked increase" not only due to the devaluation, "but they have increased also heavily in dollars, which means that the indices used to redetermine prices do not reflect the economic reality of the works.
They described the situation in the month of December as “extraordinary,” as a result of which the cost of inputs became “highly volatile,” to which must be added the “high inflation rate.” As an example, they indicated that construction iron varied its historical cost from between 0.80 and 1 USD until reaching 4.30 USD.
It is not the first postponement that the work has suffered, which had already been put out to tender at the end of 2022: that first call fell due to "economic inconveniences" related to the "financial advances" scheme with which it was made.
The opening of envelopes for the first call took place on December 14, 2022. It was headed by Governor Sergio Ziliotto and Mayor Luciano di Nápoli, among other authorities.
