Work Detail In a significant diplomatic move, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, undertook an official visit to Gujarat, India, from January 9-10, 2024, as the Chief Guest of the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi warmly welcomed His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, setting the stage for constructive talks that reaffirmed the strength of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the close ties between the two nations. Both leaders expressed their commitment to continuing collaboration to reinforce the longstanding and robust strategic partnership.This marked the fourth visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to India in the last eight years and his second official visit as the President of the UAE. His Highness’s previous visit in September 2023 included participation in the G20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi and the launch of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s six visits to the UAE over the past nine years were also highlighted, with the most recent one in December 2023, attending COP28 in Dubai. The leaders discussed the significant global roles of India and the UAE in 2023, including India’s Presidency of the G20 and the UAE’s Presidency of COP28. The UAE commended India’s ambitious G20 Presidency and both sides aimed to maximize synergies between the G20 process and COP28. The Indian side congratulated the UAE for successfully hosting COP28, achieving a historic agreement called “The UAE Consensus,” signed by 198 Parties to usher in a new era of climate action. The India-UAE relationship, formally elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2017, was reviewed, with both leaders expressing satisfaction at the progress achieved in various sectors. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan witnessed the exchange of key agreements, including those on investment cooperation in healthcare, renewable energy, and food park development, along with a significant memorandum between DP World and the Government of Gujarat. Recognizing the importance of food security, the leaders emphasized the India-UAE Food Park project, aiming to promote the reliability and resilience of food supply chains and expand food and agriculture trade. They also highlighted the importance of the MoU on investment cooperation in the renewable energy sector.
