According to a report, Inova Health System is planned to start building its new hospital in Springfield later this year. The Inova Franconia-Springfield Hospital will be just a short walk from the Franconia -Springfield Metro station and Virginia Railway Express in Springfield. Construction Cost 612 million dollar hospital will be placed beside the Inova’s current Springfield HealthPlex. Last March, Inova stated that the new Springfield hospital will comprise 110 beds distributed in two patient towers with private rooms and an enlarged emergency area along with diagnostics imaging facilities and numerous procedural spaces. The Washington Business Journal reported that Inova has filed building permits for the new Springfield hospital as well as a project at Landmark Mall site to build a new Alexandria hospital. Commencement date Tom McDuffie, Inova Realty President said that the two construction sites in Springfield and Landmark are set to start this year’s third quarter. In 2023, the Virginia Department of Health allowed for construction to start on new hospital by Inova. 2022 saw the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors give their approval to Inova’s land-use applications for building a new hospital and this was followed by granting it a certificate of public need from VDH. Completion date The new hospital building is set to be completed in 2028. According to Inova, during the construction of the new hospital , patients will be provided with an access to rooms including but not limited by emergency room , physical therapy , physician offices and other clinical operations at Franconia-Springfield HealthPlex . |
