The sale of construction supplies fell 17.4% in December
The Construya Index (IC), which reflects the demand for construction inputs, registered a drop of 17.4% in December in the year-on-year comparison, while the cumulative figure for the last twelve months closed with a drop of 7.4%. 9%.
«In the December Index, which shows the closing balance of the year, it is seen that the sale of construction materials continues to decline; “This is a product of the uncertainty associated with the change of government, something that is likely to persist through the summer,” the report noted.
The study clarified that the Synthetic Indicator of Construction Activity (ISAC), which will be published this Friday by Indec, refers to November 2023, so it is not comparable with the December IC.
This index measures the evolution of the companies that make up Grupo Construya, which sell construction products such as ceramic bricks, Portland cement, lime, long steel, aluminum carpentry, adhesives and pastes to the private sector. |
