The Port of Bahía Blanca is putting out to tender maintenance dredging in its access channel.

The Bahía Blanca Port Management Consortium launched the tender for new maintenance dredging of the access channel to the port system and the Puerto Belgrano Naval Base.
For this purpose, an information meeting was held last Wednesday and the presentation of offers can be made at the entitys headquarters, until August 30, at 10:30.
That same day, at 11, the opening of envelopes containing the offers will take place.
The official budget set for public tender No. 07 CGPBB/2023 is USD 13,535,562 + VAT.

In general terms, this is a new maintenance campaign for the access channel, which is normally undertaken by the Consortium and which Compañía Sudamericana de Dragados has recently been carrying out.
This company is also the one that has also been carrying out the maintenance campaign for the interior sites of the port of Bahía Blanca, whose tender was launched two months ago and the opening of envelopes will take place next July.

The work to be carried out
In the case of maintenance dredging of the access channel, the work to be carried out includes the restoration of the theoretical depths of the design of the Main Access Channel to the Bahía Blanca port system and the access channel to the Puerto Naval Base Belgrano, with the following technical characteristics:
1. Restitution dredging of the theoretical design depths of the Main Access Channel to the Bahía Blanca port system, from km. 4 km. 80, by using a drag suction dredger and depositing the dredging product in the dumps indicated in each case. In the case of the Canal del Toro located between Km 41 to 45.5, a particular design will be available with operational overwidths of 50 meters, alternating between the green and red veriles.
2. Restoration dredging of the access channel to the Puerto Belgrano Naval Base, from Km. 0 to Km. 4.3.
3. The dredging work of item 1 and 2 will be carried out throughout a 130-day campaign, the start of which is scheduled for December 15, 2023, including in the specified areas the execution of a 3-foot dredging envelope.
In this sense, it is estimated that the tasks will be completed in April 2024.
