This latest donation will help finance the training of orphaned members in comprehensive secretarial and managerial courses. This donation marks the 14th CSR-related contribution from Bank Sohar in 2016.

The donation was handed over to Ibtihaj Salim al Yafai, head of Omani Bahjah Orphan Society, at Association Head office in Salalah by Mazin Mahmood al Raisi, Sr AGM and head of marketing and customer experience at Bank Sohar, in the presence of Ahmed Salim Jaboob, chief branch manager, Saada branch.

Munira Abdulnabi Macki, GM of HR and corporate support, Bank Sohar, said, “Orphans who are ready to take up a career may face obstacles while entering the work force in terms of not having received appropriate training and education. Associations such as the Omani Bahjah Orphan Society play a vital role in supporting these young adults who may not have been exposed to many learning opportunities.

“As such, we are glad to offer them our support and wish each of these young women, the best of luck in pursuing these courses and we sincerely wish them a bright and successful career.”

Thanking Sohar Islamic for its support, Ibtihaj said, “We are extremely grateful to Sohar Islamic for their generous support. These courses that we have prepared for the students will provide them with the training they need to successfully take up secretarial and managerial jobs in the future, helping them become self-reliant and active members of our society.”

This donation marks the third consecutive year in which Sohar Islamic has supported the Omani Bahjah Orphan Society.

Bank Sohar has supported several other organisations and their activities this year including the Muscat Autism Centre, Oman Road Safety Association and Oman Hereditary Blood Disorder Association to name a few.
