Work Detail Approximately 500 households, equivalent to 3,100 individuals in Barangay Domoit, now have access to an uninterrupted supply of clean water, thanks to the successful installation of special solar-powered pumps. Funded by Quezon 2nd District Rep. David Suarez and executed by the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) second Engineering Office, the Level II solar-powered water system project comprises two independent systems, each equipped with a submersible pump, solar panels, and elevated water tanks. Serving Purok Jasmin and Purok Dama de Noche, these systems collectively generate around 80 cubic meters of water daily. The project, costing approximately PHP10 million, aims to enhance water access and sustainability for the residents of Barangay Domoit. Rep. Suarez emphasized the importance of proper maintenance to ensure the longevity of the solar panels, which have a lifespan of 30 years. In addition, the solar water system in Purok Dama de Noche includes filtration equipment to ensure potability. This initiative is part of Rep. Suarez’s broader effort, with his office having supported the installation of solar-powered water systems in 18 villages in Lucena City to date.
