At this Tuesdays meeting at the Government House, the Buenos Aires president will also request that non-automatic transfers continue and will reject the idea of ??reinstating the Income Tax and replacing it with other alternatives.
The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, will ask President Javier Milei this Tuesday for funds to continue with the public works underway in Buenos Aires territory, to maintain the complementary transfers to the federal sharing of taxes and aid for the affected municipalities because of the storm.
Sources close to the Buenos Aires president explained to Télam that in the meeting that they will hold from 12 at the Casa Rosada, Kicillof "will raise the need to maintain the sending of resources to be able to continue with the public works."
Among the main works, the 150 new schools already under construction, the creation of more primary health care centers and industrial parks, the improvements in rural roads and - above all - the last section of the Río Salado work stand out.
At the same time, the governor will reiterate the request for help that he made this Monday before the national government for the 46 Buenos Aires municipalities affected by the devastating wind and rain storm recorded over the weekend that caused roofs to be blown up, trees to fall, damage to homes and institutions, dead and injured.
On the other hand, Kicillof will request the continuity of non-automatic transfers. «Until now, of all non-automatic transfers, the province of Buenos Aires received 40%. It is not a coincidence: we have 40% of the countrys population, 50% of the production and we contribute 40% to the collection," sources from the Buenos Aires Executive Branch explained.
They clarified that, in addition, Buenos Aires is the province that "spends the least per inhabitant and the second province in the lowest number of state workers per inhabitant after Córdoba."
Thus, they stated that they will be asked to maintain the resources provided for the Security Fund, the inflation update of the Fiscal Consensus, the Annual Agreement for Canteens and the money from the MESA program, among others, given that "it is about essential resources to sustain basic services for citizens.
At the same time, the governor will reject the idea of ??reinstating the Income Tax and will propose "replacing or compensating" the impact that this measure had on the mass of co-participation with other instruments or alternatives.
For Kicillof, the possibility of sharing 50% of the Check Tax or sharing the increase in agricultural withholdings announced by the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, should be analyzed.
Simultaneously, the provincial Cabinet considered that if the national administration insisted on reestablishing Profits, they would ask that it be only for the highest salaries and not for the fourth category.
