On Monday, the opening of envelopes for a tender of more than 1,000 million pesos was scheduled for the continuity upstream of the Neuquén, to Chocón Street, of the Paseo Costero. The work had been committed with funds from the Ministry of Public Works of the Nation but, based on national announcements, the process was suspended and how to include the stretch of riverside works in the forecast of works with the communes own funds is being analyzed.

The work "Costanera Río Neuquén" sector 1C, which corresponded to the ninth tender organized in 2023, had a budget of 1,107,686,514.57 pesos for a work that was scheduled to last one year to illuminate the waterfront in the riverside sector of the Independiente Club . For vehicular access, a land session agreement was made since the step involved the modification of the sports clubs shooting range.
In the known project, the bicycle path, coastal defense and pedestrian promenade with recreational furniture swayed along the banks of the Neuquén River, while the vehicular path deviated from the coast, avoiding the flood zone, to avoid a small forest.

Nicola explained that the file will be reconfigured to build the waterfront with its own funds. «We will carry out a budget restructuring and we will incorporate the relocation of the shooting range that we were going to tender separately. I estimate that as soon as the economy stabilizes a little, we will have certain parameters for companies to be listed," he said.
Rearranging the project would take more than a quarter.
He added that rearranging the budget and the new executive project may require the first quarter of 2024, including the deadlines for a new call for tenders.
The municipality budgeted for this year a total of 42,000 million pesos in public works for the city, of which more than 70% correspond to asphalt, stormwater and improvements in the paving of trunks.
It was not explained what the modifications that will involve this inclusion of the waterfront work among the forecasts with own funds since national financing fell.
