In a bid to enhance sustainable and eco-friendly solutions, Uganda’s Ministry of Water and Environment has announced a procurement initiative for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 40 Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Packages. These packages are set to bolster water supply schemes across various regions.
The Ministry is inviting sealed bids from eligible contractors for the project, which is divided into four lots. Each lot focuses on specific areas, to implement solar energy solutions to ensure a reliable water supply. Notably, the Ministry has allocated a bid security of USD 35,000 for each lot to facilitate the procurement process.
The detailed bidding documents can be inspected and obtained at the Ministry of Water and Environment Headquarters, specifically at the Procurement and Disposal Unit on the Ground Floor, located at Plot 3-7 Kabalega Crescent, Luzira, Kampala.
Interested parties are required to submit their bids by 11:00 A.M. Ugandan time on January 17, 2024, with electronic submissions not being permissible. Late submissions will not be considered. The public bid opening is scheduled for 11:05 A.M. Ugandan time on the same day, with the event taking place at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The bid evaluation process is anticipated to conclude within 40 working days from the bid closing date.

The contract signing is expected to occur after the Solicitor General’s approval and the expiry of at least 10 working days from the display of the best-evaluated bidder notice.
