Work Detail On the sidelines of the Green Hydrogen Summit Oman (GHSO), Hydrom (Hydrogen Oman) signed two development agreements and an usufruct with SalalaH2 consortium. Moreover, Hydrom signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oman Investment Authority (OIA) and Siemens Energy to collaborate on the development of an electrolyser manufacturing facility in Oman. It also signed an MoU with Asyad Group to develop the nation’s logistics sector to facilitate large-scale hydrogen projects. The awardingof the green hydrogen block to the SalalaH2 consortium, which comprises entities from Oman, Japan, the UAE and Korea, is set to produce over 4 GW of renewable energy for the production of green hydrogen and process it further to green ammonia for local use as well as exports to international green ammonia markets. The consortium includes OQ AE, Marubeni Corporation, Dutco Overseas Limited (Dutco Group), and Samsung Engineering Ltd. Further, the project is estimated to produce a target of over 1million tons of green ammonia per year, with an expected production ofover175,000tons of green hydrogen. Moreover, the MoU signed between Hydrom, OIA and Siemen Energy aims to explore the development, construction and operation of an electrolyser manufacturing facility in Oman. The hydrogen value chain has the potential to deliver industrial and economic growth for Oman through localization. As for the MoU inked between Hydrom and Asyad Group, it targets collaborating on Advancing Oman’s logistics sector by supporting innovative green hydrogen projects. This strategic partnership focuses on orchestrating a robust domestic supply chain within Oman, fostering a conducive ecosystem for hydrogen initiatives. Recognizing the distinctive demands and scale of industrial cargo linked to green hydrogen projects and downstream facilities, both entities are dedicated to expediting infrastructure development. The goal is to not only to meet but exceed anticipated requirements and global standards, thereby enabling the seamless deployment of hydrogen solutions across diverse industries. Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, said that the exhibition provides a suitable chance for the exchange of expertise and to get introduced to the latest technologies in the sector. He pointed out that the total expected investments of the agreements signed on the sidelines of the exhibition will exceed USD 38 billion. On his turn, Eng. Abdulaziz Al Shidhani, Managing Director of Hydrom said that the company achieved noticeable advancement in its unwavering commitment to develop the green hydrogen sector in the Sultanate of Oman through the signing of these strategic agreements. Moreover, Green Hydrogen Summit Oman brings together industry leaders, policy makers and innovators.
