Work Detail Colony Park Sustainable Community two steps closer to development, Austin Recently, Austin City Council approved two key advancements for the development of the Colony Park Sustainable Community in northeast Austin. The council approved zoning updates and terms for an agreement to develop the 208-acre property. As stated by the Economic Development Department, these choices play an influential role in converting this area into meticulously planned habitat. It will encompass necessary services; public facilities and housing ranges are all on its portfolio. And what happens from here? They’ve made plans which require them to revisit the council at dawn next year with hopes of unfurling further specifications associated with funding support packages among others things needed for developing agreement preservation along Catellus that is expected complete initial steps around early-2024.Then according suburb layout establishment plan – streets & basic communal amenities construction should be underway starting late-2025 followed closely significant residential plus commercial building development slated beginning 2027 What plans are in place for the Park Sustainable Community? City revealed that the vast 208-acre community would accommodate potentially 3,000 residential structures with an encompassing area of about 230,000 square feet reserved for offices and institutional purposes. The plans also included allocation of space spanning over around 130,000 square feet dedicated solely to retail avenues while preserving a full expanse of approximately42 acres purely devoted to parks and other green open spaces. “We are thrilled with City Council’s approval of the two key advancements, marking a significant stride in the realization of the Colony Park Sustainable Community,” mentions Sylnovia Holt-Rabb, Director of the Economic Development Department. “This underscores our collective vision, and we eagerly anticipate the positive impact on northeast Austin. These milestones reflect years of community engagement and planning, and we look forward to the transformative journey ahead.” The project was originally initiated with the Colony Park Sustainable Community Introductory Phase beginning in 2012, powered by a $3 million financial boost from United States’ Housing and Urban Development Department.
