The construction of a new building is proposed to replace the Punta del Lago service unit in San Martín park.
The Ministry of Environment and Territorial Planning, through the Directorate of Parks and Public Walks, announced that the opening of envelopes for the tender for the construction and operation of a new service unit for the sector located at the tip of the lake was carried out. from San Martín Park, and four companies presented themselves.
The project is part of the plan to renovate the service units of the General San Martín Park, taking into account that the existing service unit does not respond to current needs and does not comply with regulations or the minimum standards to provide this type of services. The site intended for this work is northwest of the lake, in the place currently occupied by the Punta del Lago service unit.
The director of Parks and Public Walks, Ricardo Mariotti, stated: “Today we opened the bidding envelopes for the construction and operation of this service unit. It is important to mention that the execution of the work must be adapted to the needs and activities carried out in the sector and, fundamentally, consider the existing forestation, which must be preserved in a good state of conservation and maintained for its heritage value.

Due to its location within the historic center, its relationship with the Lake and with the perilago cycle path circuit, the sector where the current building is located is one of the main points of attraction of the General San Martín Park. Every day athletes, walkers and tourists from the province, the country and the world pass through the sector. For these reasons, the construction of a new building is proposed to replace the existing one in the place currently occupied by the Punta del Lago service unit.
“The work consists of the construction of a building intended for a gastronomic space. It will have a room with a sales and control bar for use from inside or outside, food storage, kitchen, dressing room and staff bathroom, and public toilets with a bathroom for the disabled,” Mariotti added.
The discovered spaces of Punta del Lago include:
3 bridges/viewpoints over the canal to the south.
Deck for tables on the west slope of the Lake.
Recovery and expansion of the viewing deck.
Service yard.
Expansions for tables on the North and East sides of the building.
Complementary works for the Lake viewing platform.
The construction does not involve any expense for the provincial State, the costs will be covered by the offeror, who will have a concession for the new unit for 12 years.
