Work Detail Deltabulk Shipping India Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Delta Corp Holdings Ltd. based in London, has secured the bid for the development of a Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) in Nagpur. The company emerged as the successful bidder by offering the highest minimum guaranteed revenue of Rs. 365.89 crores for the 45-year contract, surpassing the only other contender, J M Baxi Ports & Logistics Ltd, which quoted a minimum guaranteed revenue of Rs. 169.44 crores. In addition to the minimum guaranteed revenue, Deltabulk Shipping has committed to sharing an extra 10 percent of its quarterly revenue with the National Highways Logistics Management Ltd (NHLM) if it exceeds the estimated business outlined in the bid. The estimated revenue for Deltabulk Shipping over the concession period is Rs. 33,597 crores. Prakash Gaur, CEO of NHLM, a unit of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), confirmed the awarding of the bid to Deltabulk Shipping. The logistics company, led by Mudit Paliwal, an Indian-born entrepreneur with a background in global freight management, will invest approximately Rs. 360 crores to develop the MMLP, covering an expanse of 150 acres. Deltabulk Shippings victory in Nagpur marks the fifth MMLP project awarded by NHLM, following developments in Chennai, Bengaluru, Indore, and Jogighopa (Guwahati). This initiative aligns with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP), as the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways aims to establish 35 multimodal logistics parks across India, with 15 of them planned for the next three years. A Multimodal Logistics Park serves as a vital cargo consolidation and distribution center, employing multiple transportation modes to achieve scalability in shipments and offering various logistics and value-added services. Typically featuring intermodal connectivity, such as dedicated railway lines, access from prominent highways, and connections to airports or seaports, MMLPs play a crucial role in the movement of commercial vehicles and provide comprehensive logistics solutions. The services offered by MMLPs encompass customs clearance, late-stage processing activities, and facilities for cold storage, among others, contributing to the flexibility and convenience of users in a centralized location.
