Guinness Nigeria PLC has commissioned three units of 10,000m3 capacity solar powered motorised water infrastructure in the West African countrys Oyo

The three solar water projects will provide safe drinking water and hygiene for more than 11,000 people with a combined technical capacity to produce in excess of 46 million litres of water annually, the company said. The initiative was launched last week.
"An incredible day in Eruwa Township, New Eruwa and Lanlate communities of Ibarapa East LGA of Oyo State, as we had the Guinness Water of Life Project Commissioning on November 2nd, 2023.
"Clean water is not just a necessity; its a lifeline for prosperity and well-being. The significance of this project extends beyond the immediate benefits. It reflects our commitment to sustainable development and environmental responsibility," the company said on social media.
The company partnered with NGO WaterAid to roll out the project.
The overall goal of WaterAid Nigerias Country Programme Strategy 2023-2028 is to "influence, deliver and scale-up WASH solutions that are sustainable, climate-resilient, gender-responsive and address key cross-cutting elements of other development goals including health, education, poverty, economic growth and nutrition." |
