Work Detail Sweco with Spanish partner TYPSA have won a $23.5m contract to provide site supervision, works coordination, and expert support services for a new 11.5km metro line in Stockholm. The new line with seven stations will connect the existing, downtown Kungsträdgården station to the Nacka Municipality in the east of the city. It will run through bedrock and under an inlet of the Baltic Sea, with one of its stations located 100 metres below ground, Sweco said. Work for client Region Stockholm has begun and is expected to run through to 2030. Sweco and TYPSA have provided services such as architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical design for Stockholm’s metro expansion since 2014. “This is a major urban development project for a growing region in need of more sustainable public transport systems,” said Ann-Louise Lökholm Klasson, president of Sweco in Sweden.
