Work Detail “OUR NEXT MANAGEMENT WILL BE FOCUSED ON CONTINUING THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE CITY” The mayor of Río Grande took stock of his first mandate and advanced the works planned for the city. He highlighted that practically 30% of the municipal budget will be allocated to public works, as an engine of the economy and generator of jobs. He raised the importance of Sergio Massas victory in the presidential elections, to continue having a present state, a federal perspective and support for development. Next week there will be an event to express to the neighbors the need to accompany the Union for the Homeland front. On the other hand, Martín Pérez referred to the investments financed by the fund to expand the Fuegian productive matrix. “We are already in the bidding process for three fundamental works for the city. The first is the modernization of the entire current industrial park, finishing paving the missing streets and bringing services to the lots that do not yet have them. A new subdivision will be built behind the Vapor Amadeo area, with more than 200 housing solutions for our neighbors. All these works are going to be financed with the extraordinary contribution that companies make to the fund.” Río Grande.- The mayor of Río Grande, Martín Pérez, took stock of his first administration on Radio La Red 93.9 and Provincia 23, with a review of the public works that were carried out and those that are planned. He announced that for the next administration a new Youth Space will be built, which would be added to those located in Chacra II-Chacra IV, AGP and Margen Sur. “We are going to define in which area of ??the city but we are going to build it because it is something that young people need, along with educational workshops, sports, technological training with a job opportunity. There is a lot to do and we have a big challenge ahead of us,” he said. As a balance, he pointed out that “we have carried out transformative municipal management. We have transformed the city with works that are central and will be fundamental for the development of the city. There are road works such as the double Santa Fe and Avenida San Martín. We are one day away from being able to open the first section of the avenue and we will be opening the first hand in the coming days. This avenue will connect the central area with the north of the city. We have worked with water works that have not been achieved for a long time, such as the coastal walls, the Malvinas Islands stormwater piping, and sanitation works in general to improve the quality of life of our people. We have paved almost 300 blocks in three and a half years of management, despite the year and a half of pandemic. There were civil works such as sports gyms, youth spaces, cultural spaces. A lot of effort and a lot of resources, both municipal and national, have been invested, with a view that makes the city transform,” he highlighted. “The positivity of the balance has been given by the people with their vote last May, by revalidating our management. It has also highlighted challenges that lie ahead. Much has been done but there is still much to do. Our next management will be focused on continuing the transformation of the city. Public works will continue to be a priority, we will strengthen food production with environmental sustainability and with a view linked to food sovereignty. That is why we are starting work on the local products market in the former Fénix kiosk, and work is already underway in the area. We are starting very important sports spaces, such as the Chacra II Olympic natatorium. We are also planning a new natatorium in the southern part of the city. “We want our city to finish consolidating itself as a thriving, industrial city that generates work,” he said. Public-private operations Regarding the public-private operation, he highlighted the benefit it brought to the city and reported on an agreement that will allow for a thousand housing solutions. “Private initiative is a tool that the Deliberative Council has voted for us and it has served in different circumstances to be able to carry out works in our city. With the inflationary situation we have now, it is a little more difficult to use this tool, but at the time it allowed us to carry out important works and we are going to continue using it. The logic of working together with the private sector is important. We have signed an agreement with the owner of a very important portion of land. There are 36 hectares in the eastern part of the city, behind the Malvinas Argentinas neighborhood. This agreement has allowed us to find an understanding with the owner of the land so that it can be transferred to the municipality. We are going to incorporate the infrastructure and we are going to be able to have 60% of that private land to be able to provide housing solutions. It is the first time that an agreement of this nature has been made, and we will be able to place almost a thousand lots with services on the real estate market. “This will allow us to continue solving the housing problem, which today is the most pressing,” he indicated. FAMPF investments On the other hand, he referred to the investments financed by the fund to expand the Fuegian productive matrix. “We are already in the bidding process for three fundamental works for the city. The first is the modernization of the entire current industrial park, finishing paving the missing streets and bringing services to the lots that do not yet have them. A hydrant network will be created throughout the industrial park to solve the fire problem. A new subdivision will be built behind the Vapor Amadeo area, with more than 200 housing solutions for our neighbors. All these works will be financed with the extraordinary contribution that companies make to the fund. “It is money that stops leaving our province to be invested in infrastructure,” he celebrated. “The tender for the southern access to our city is also advanced. We are going to widen the ring road to Popper Street in the Malvinas Argentinas neighborhood, with new roundabouts and lighting, and with bike lanes. This will make entry to our city more efficient, especially for trucks, because we are going to begin the work of the logistics node. Finally, the acquisition and complementary works of the new refrigerator are advanced. It will be financed in part by the FAMPF and this will allow us to generate an export-quality meat processing plant, which will generate jobs. This will replace a portion of the food that comes in, because all of it is an unattainable goal. It will be possible to establish a locally produced brand. It is an investment from the municipality to strengthen local producers. We have a network of producers in our city, mainly in the southern bank area and in rural areas, who are dedicated to indoor food production. It is an organic production of vegetables and we also have a group of meat producers. We have to continue improving this because it is difficult to work in that area. That is why the refrigerator is such an important project and comes to try to make a leap in quality,” he said. “The creation of the State Society is our food brand and it is important to invest municipal and national State resources to enhance what already exists in Río Grande. This summer we will be delivering one million eight hundred thousand seedlings to our producers. It is an absolute record of delivering green production for our city. On the other hand, the balanced food plant is in full construction, in an agreement with The Salesian Mission. On Saturday we are going to inaugurate the Expo Agro Productiva in La Misión and it is the third edition. The balanced feed plant will allow us to lower the cost of meat production in our city. It will be possible to start producing here the food that today is brought from the north of the country and we estimate that it will be at 30% of the current cost,” he assured. He added that “in the municipal nursery area we are carrying out work to develop a high-tech nursery, with contributions from the Inter-American Development Bank. “This will allow us to further increase the production of fruits and vegetables.” Approval of the 2024 budget Regarding the approval of the 2024 budget by the Deliberative Council, he indicated that “we present a municipal balanced budget project, without debt, that reflects our policy in each of the sectors to which we are targeting our municipal resources to continue strengthening the presence of the municipal State. We took a definition at the beginning of the administration to sustainably increase investment in public works and we have fulfilled it. Once again, our budget will allocate practically 30% of the total to public works, as an engine of the economy and generator of a better quality of life for our neighbors. “We are in a context with economic variables that make it difficult to predict what may happen and we are all very expectant of what will happen on November 19.” real estate tax He also mentioned the dialogue with the province to resolve the collection of the real estate tax. “We are holding a dialogue with the provincial government. Regarding the real estate tax, we have been able to find a point of understanding and we will discuss throughout 2024 how the court ruling will be applied. In principle, it will be a tax that will be collected by the municipality as is currently being done, then we will see what will happen in 2025,” he expressed. Provincial budget review Likewise, he advanced modifications to the provincial budget project, specifically article 25 that removes funds from the municipalities. “We are looking at one of the articles with concern. I have discussed this with the governor and I have asked him to review article 25, because it establishes a cut for the municipality of the order of three billion pesos for next year. We do not believe that this cut is fair based on all the social investment that our municipality carries out. We are in good dialogue with the provincial government and we have agreed on the need to review this article, to raise it with the legislators, and we hope that this can really be reversed, because it would be a big problem for our municipality. It would be three billion pesos less that we could allocate to public works. We are a municipality that has a presence in every corner of the city and assistance to each of the neighbors who need it, that is why I have spoken with the governor and we have agreed on the need to review that article. I understand that we will be able to reach an understanding on the issue,” he confided. Port of Rio Grande On the other hand, he reported on the “permanent” dialogue that he maintains with the Mirgor company, which “in addition to the port has other important investments in the city and is a generator of a large number of jobs. From the municipality we are accompanying the port project, we have already granted the company the corresponding permits so that the work can begin. On the part of the municipality, everything is ready for the preliminary works to begin. They have told us that the work would begin in March and we are planning related works in the area. One of the projects that we have planned together with the FAMPF is a new industrial park in the port area, thinking about the industrial growth of our city in that area, with everything that port movement and the economic activity that is generated in the area implies. zone. “We are in full conversation with the Mirgor group and accompanying this very important and transformative initiative for our city,” he stated. Swear at Don Bosco Finally, he reported that the swearing-in of the mayor and the councilors will be in the gymnasium of the Don Bosco school. “We were getting too small at Margalot and it seems to us that the Don Bosco gym is going to be more accessible. I think the provincial government is going to hold the event in the same place a few days later. We have great expectations and desire to continue working for our city. Four years of great effort are coming and we hope it will be with a national government that continues to accompany us. It is important that our current Minister of Economy is the future president of the nation and that is going to be very good for Río Grande. Next week we are going to hold a very important event to express to our neighbors the importance of the Union for the Homeland front being able to win the national elections. We will be informing about the place and we will wait for all the neighbors who want to attend,” he concluded.
