Work Detail A recent report by the Deccan Chronicle (DC) has unveiled startling revelations by TPCC Chief A Revanth Reddy, who asserts that a significant portion of the Medigadda project must be demolished and rebuilt to address construction quality issues within the Kaleshwaram project. Reddy made these claims during a press interaction after inspecting the Medigadda barrage, accompanied by Rahul Gandhi, in an effort to assess the construction quality concerns surrounding the Kaleshwaram project. According to Reddy, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) has allegedly embroiled the Kaleshwaram project in a massive corruption scandal totaling Rs one trillion. This corruption, as Reddy alleges, has resulted in the sinking of pillars and leakages in the barrages. As cited in the DC report, Reddy declared, "People of Telangana want to punish Chandrashekar Rao for indulging in high-level corruption in the Kaleshwaram project. The Chief Ministers sins have come to fruition, and his pot of corruption has burst with the sinking of Medigadda pillars. Crores of public money has been misused with shoddy works." The Congress party has launched a sharp critique of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, labeling KCR as "Kaleshwaram Corruption Rao." TPCC Chief Reddy pointed out that the pillars of the Medigadda project have reportedly sunk due to inadequate precautions, specifically mentioning that pillars numbered 1 to 25 have experienced this issue. Furthermore, Reddy revealed that officials have reported that the affected pillars have sagged by approximately two and a half feet. He stressed that the situation necessitates the demolition of the Medigadda project to rectify these shortcomings. In addition, he called for the blacklisting of the company responsible for the projects construction, Larsen & Toubro. Reddy did not spare the BJP from his criticism, accusing the central government of being aware of the corruption within the project but allegedly protecting the BRS. He argued that the Kaleshwaram project and the barrages within its purview continue to deteriorate due to the alleged corruption of the BRS and BJP. Revanth Reddy asserted the Congresss strong confidence in winning the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana. The Election Commission of India (ECI) recently announced elections for five poll-bound states on October 9, including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, and Telangana. The elections in Telangana are scheduled for November 30, with the results set to be disclosed on December 3.
