Work Detail Australian resource and mineral processing technology company Tivan Ltd (ASX:TVN) is working with Larrakia Energy on another potential power purchase agreement (PPA) to secure renewable energy for its vanadium electrolyte facility (VE Facility) to be built in Australias Northern Territory. Larrakia Energy, majority-owned by Darwin-based Larrakia Development Corporation (LDC), is currently developing a 300-MW solar project near the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct (MASDP) where Tivan intends to build its VE Facility. The two companies have signed a non-binding letter of intent (LoI) for the supply of up to 30 MW of renewable energy, starting in 2026. The LoI with Larrakia Energy follows a similar pact signed by Tivan with Sun Cable Pty Ltd in April. The plan for the VE Facility is part of Tivan’s push to become a leading Australian player in the deployment of vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFB) for long-duration energy storage. The site at MASDP is based on Tivan’s agreement from earlier this year to acquire the Speewah Project, a large vanadium in titanomagnetite resource located in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia. MASDP is a master-planned infrastructure scheme set to create an industrial area largely powered by renewables on the Middle Arm Peninsula of Darwin Harbour.
