Work Detail New Metro Blue Line Project In Dubai Takes Shape as RTA Seeks Contractors The construction of the new Metro Blue Line project takes shape as Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) seeks contractors for the project. The ministry issued a notice seeking expression of interest from contractors for the design and build of the new Metro Blue line. The line will be constructed for the Dubai Metro Network. The scope of the project bids the construction budget at $5 billion but is expected to cost several more based on the final scope. The project is one of Dubai’s largest upcoming infrastructure schemes. The project will require international contractors to work in a joint venture with local partners in Dubai. The build and design contractor for the New Metro Blue line will be liable for all civil works, electromechanical works, and rail systems. The contractor will also be responsible for rolling stocks. The contractor will assist in operation and maintenance for a tree-year period after the project is complete. The construction of the Blue line will connect the existing Red and Green Lines. The New Metro Blue line will have a total length spanning to 30 kilometers. 15.5 of this will be underground while 14.5 kilometers will be above ground. The line will have 14 stations, seven of which will be elevated. There will be five underground stations. There will also be an interchange station and two elevated transfer stations. These stations will be connected to the existing CenterPoint and Creek stations.
