Public invited to have their say on potential fourth phase of UK offshore wind farm
Members of the public are being encouraged to have their say in the coming weeks on a potential fourth phase of Dogger Bank Wind Farm.
A public consultation on the Dogger Bank D wind farm proposals will open on Tuesday 26 September for six weeks and run until Tuesday 7 November.
The public consultation will include in person events and an online webinar.
Dogger Bank D’s project team is working closely with the Crown Estate to agree the progression of Dogger Bank D.
If progressed for delivery, Dogger Bank D would be located in the North Sea around 210 km off the north-east coast of England.
Subject to further technical studies, the project could be capable of generating up to around 2GW of renewable power.
Different opportunities are being explored in parallel by the project development team to utilise the energy that could be produced by Dogger Bank D.
These include electrical transmission and hydrogen production which, in the public consultation, outlines two sites near Aldbrough and Saltend to potentially host electrolyser facilities and associated infrastructure.
The feedback will be used to help guide the project as it continues to develop its proposals ahead of its potential application to the Planning Inspectorate and Secretary of State for a Development Consent Order as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project.
A second phase of consultation is planned for summer 2024.
