They include the Ilawe-Igede Road, the completion of the bus terminal in Ado-Ekiti, and the rehabilitation of Agric Olope-Moferere/Agric Olope-Odo Ado Road. The reconstruction of the Igbara-Odo-Ikogosi lined drain road, and the rehabilitation of Ado-Iworoko Road, among others. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to collaborate with the Federal Government to ensure the free flow of traffic. The Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, conveyed this promising news. It was one of the significant outcomes of the weekly State Executive Council meeting. Olatunbosun emphasized that these new road projects also aim to contribute significantly to the state’s economic growth. Explaining the rationale behind the construction of a dual carriageway and rehabilitation of the Ado-Ilawe Road, Olatunbosun highlighted its strategic importance. The intervention seeks to provide alternative routes for motorists, allowing them to reach communities along that corridor more efficiently. They would also gain access to neighboring states without unnecessary delays. Using the ongoing rehabilitation of the Igede-Ilawe Road as an example, the commissioner emphasized its importance upon completion. This road would not only ease traffic between Kwara and Akure or Lagos but also serve as a ring road. It would alleviate traffic congestion within the state capital by providing alternative routes for drivers. Similar benefits are anticipated for the construction of a dual carriageway and the rehabilitation road projects. They will connect Ekiti State with Igbara Oke in Ondo State and beyond. Offering a more convenient route without the need to navigate through the state capital.
