Work Detail The project scope includes the construction of a new indoor substation (GIS) within the NEOM facility Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has awarded a major contract for the setting up of a 380/132kV substation within the mega futuristic city NEOM in the northwest of Saudi Arabia. The contract worth SR744 million ($198.3 million) for NEOM Mountain BSP was clinched by local firm Al Gihaz Contracting Company. A diversified Saudi company, Al Gihaz boasts more than 40 successful years of providing integrated solutions for conventional energy, renewable energy, communications infrastructure, security services, and entertainment projects. Founded by Saeed Ali Al-Angari in 1975, Al Gihaz has since grown from a small contracting firm to a multi-million dollar group of companies. NEOM’s collaborations Just last week, NEOM has announced its collaboration with IMG Golf Course Services to build a 9-hole golf course along the opulent shores of Sindalah island. Tasked with supervising activities before the grand opening, handling marketing, and providing operational management for the Golf Club at Sindalah, IMG Golf Course Services is poised to enhance the golfing landscape in the Middle East. Situated on the exquisite Sindalah island, this prestigious, all-season destination is set to revolutionise the golfing experience with its exceptional characteristics. Sindalah will be home to the first island golf course of its kind within the GCC, and is poised to cater to a diverse range of golf enthusiasts. Additionally, global provider of inverter and energy storage solutions, Sungrow, headquartered in China, has entered into an agreement with Larsen & Toubro to deliver inverter skid solutions for a 2.2 GWac photovoltaic (PV) plant located in Saudi Arabia. This PV plant stands as the largest single-site utility-scale installation in the Middle East and is part of the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project in Saudi Arabia, developed by the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC).
