Work Detail The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR) commenced the construction of another of their “Africa’s Tertiary Education Grants Scheme” projects in Nigeria. These initiatives are part of ASR Africa’s Tertiary Education Grants Scheme, benefiting six universities with a N1 billion grant in 2021. Univeristy of Ibadan Resources Center The transformative 2,000-square meters resources center will be constructed at the University of Ibadan. This state-of-the-art facility will provide counseling and career support to students while exploring cleaner energy options for the university. Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Anambra State Student Affairs Center Just days before, ASR Africa broke ground at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Anambra State for a Student Affairs Center, a multifaceted complex comprising a sports center, an Information & Communication Technology (ICT) hub, administrative offices, and a 1,000-student capacity amphitheater. ASR Africa’s Main Source Of Funding. The fund is drawn from ASR Africa’s US$100 million Fund for Social Development and Renewal, with the University of Maiduguri, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, the University of Ilorin, the University of Benin, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University also being beneficiaries. The initiative primarily concentrates on Education, Health, and Social Development in Africa. It aims to enhance facilities, researchers, healthcare practitioners, and community-level service providers. It also strives to bolster the endeavors of governments in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa in these key areas. Dr. Ubon Udoh, the Managing Director of ASR Africa, expressed gratitude to the university management for their cooperation and highlighted the profound impact of the Resources Center. He described it as “life-changing,” as it addresses mental health issues among students, nurtures their career paths, and promotes cleaner energy solutions for the university. Dr. Ubon reaffirmed ASR Africa’s commitment to supporting quality education across Nigeria and Africa. He believes the Career Center will empower University of Ibadan students to compete globally academically. ASR Africa has commenced the construction of a resource center showing their dedication to empowering Nigerian universities and fostering a sustainable and innovative educational environment.
