Work Detail Technip Energies has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with yard infrastructure provider Young Chang and heavy lifting solutions provider Sarens to collaborate on floating offshore wind projects in South Korea. The cooperation covers the development of an integrated solution to provide floating wind turbine marshalling and integration services, using Young Chang’s Shinan yard and Sarens’ capabilities in heavy lifting and engineered transport. Young Chang has a steel fabrication capacity of 90,000 tonnes per year in its Shinan yard. The yard has a large space of 330,000 square meters and a 310-meter quay wall with enough water depth to act as an offshore supply base as well as a steel fabricating and integration services site for forthcoming offshore wind power projects. “With Technip Energies’ project leadership and Sarens’ mobilization capacity, we will focus on the Korean market first and look forward to other global opportunities,” Gill-Sik Park, CEO of Young Chang Heavy Industry, said. “Our objective is to combine our strengths by bringing in Sarens’ expertise in offshore wind marshalling of foundations and wind turbine integration as well as local presence,” Carl Sarens, managing director of Sarens Projects, added.
