The public works locomotive does not stop: new train station for Tigre

The public works train does not stop. And it is reflected in areas such as Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura, a body under the Ministry of Transport of the Nation, which has just started work to have a new station for the Miter line, in Tigre. The person who at the time worked and thought about a new station was Malena Galmarini, president of AySA and pre-candidate for Mayor of Tigre, who toured the work together with Rodrigo Álvarez and Iván Kildoff, vice president and manager of Administrative Affairs, respectively, of the Administration of Railway infrastructure.
The works, which will have an execution time of 1 year, include elevated platforms 150 meters long, a ticket office, shelters, public toilets and ramps with accessibility for people with reduced mobility and two entrances, one to the east in front of the Nordelta neighborhood, and a secondary one, oriented towards the Lirios del Talar shopping center.
For greater security of those who transit the area, surveillance cameras and LED lighting will be installed. In addition, operational offices will be built for the personnel of Trenes Argentinos.
The new stop, located between the Gral. Pacheco and Benavídez stations, will provide more connectivity options for residents of Tigre and for people traveling between Retiro and Zárate.
"Among the main objectives that we set ourselves was to expand the rail network and move forward with its modernization through the construction of new stations so that thousands of citizens have more travel alternatives," said Martín Marinucci, President of Argentine Trains.
These tasks are framed within the Rail Transport Modernization Plan carried out by the Ministry led by Diego Giuliano, with the aim of improving connectivity, increasing train safety, and enhancing accessibility. |
