The municipality together with the Buenos Aires Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services carried out the opening of envelopes in search of updating the treatment of sewage waste in Pehuajó.
In virtual format, the act of opening envelopes for the new Pumping Station and the Sewerage Treatment Plant of Pehuajó was held.
It was held at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services of the Province of Buenos Aires headed by Minister Leonardo Nardini and Provincial Director of Water and Sewers Sergio Benet.
In turn, the mayor Pablo Javier Zurro and the secretary of Public Works, Luis Fanti, were present. So did Valeria Redolatti, director of Programs and Projects at DIPAC; Adrián Merlo, director of Rural Sanitation; and Javier Trezza, chief of staff of the Undersecretariat of Water Resources.
Zurro in his social networks, expressed “I want to especially thank the Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires Axel Kicillof, for always keeping us present and giving us his unconditional support. There is nothing better than changing the way people live. The sewage works are sometimes not seen, but we advance in health and quality of life” said the mayor of Pehuajó.
For this initiative, the future projection of the population in 20 years was greater than 39,000 inhabitants, so the current plant would not cope with the eventuality. That is why the works will be carried out with an official budget of $2,558,502,570.
Finally, Guillermo Jelinski, Undersecretary of Water Resources, remarked that "it is extremely important for us to carry out this historic work for the town of Pehuajó, which is its new treatment plant that is designed for more than 39,000 inhabitants," adding that "it resolves a problem that the mayor has been raising for many years and improves the quality of life for the entire population.
