5MW scheme in Touraine will supply local industrial and mobility demand
Lhyfe and its partners have launched a 5MW green hydrogen project in France.
The Hy’Touraine development was selected by ADEME for a €3.4m grant
The projects electrolyser will be powered by clean power supplied by Syndicat Intercommunal d’Energie d’Indre et Loire and its renewable energy company EnER Centre Val de Loire.
The hydrogen produced will potentially supply numerous local authorities, such as Tours Métropole Val de Loire, Communauté de Communes Touraine Vallée de l’Indre, Conseil Départemental de Touraine, and businesses, such as STMicroelectronics Tours.
The strategically located Isoparc industrial estate in Sorigny, just off the A10 motorway, was selected as the location for the future renewable hydrogen production plant.
The unit will be flexible and modular and will meet industrial and mobility demand via two refuelling stations.
STMicroelectronics Tours has expressed a need for locally produced renewable hydrogen to support its industrial development of gallium nitride technology and help it to achieve its goal of being carbon neutral by 2027. |
