Work Detail With the first batch of 25 students, Bharathidasan School of Management (BSM) on Tuesday started its MBA programme for the academic year 2016-17 at the Bharathidasan University campus on Tuesday.
The university started BSM to offer courses on par with Bharathidasan Institute of Management, DOMS and other premier B-schools in Trichy. "Prospective candidates from Tamil Nadu will get preference in admissions in the school," director (I/C) of BSM Dr N Rajendran said.
The admission is made through the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) and counselling conducted by DOTE.
A nominal fee of Rs 20,000 per semester will be collected from students as per government norms, which is far less than other management institutes in Trichy.

Placement opportunities will be provided to students apart from pre-placement training programmes. Vice-chancellor of the university V M Muthu Kumar said that principal aim of the entire programme is to broaden the management skills of students by way of interactive and participatory classroom experience and sharpen the soft skills. The classrooms are hi-tech with air-conditioned and smart class room facilities.
Eminent scholars, corporate professionals and visiting faculty will form the core part of teaching and practical sessions. Besides, the BSM campus has a good library, hostels and sports facilities.
BSM is the 18th school in the main campus of BDU. The decision to launch was taken after the renowned Bharathidasan Institute Management was granted administrative autonomy and even the director for it is appointed by the Union government.
