The public consultation will be available until May 28, 2023. They propose to expand the objectives until producing 500,000.00 tons of H2V and its derivatives locally in 2030. The National Secretariat of Energy of Panama has launched a Public Consultation that seeks to strengthen the National Strategy for Green Hydrogen and Derivatives in Panama (ENHIVE). The Secretary of Energy, Jorge Rivera Staff, emphasized the vision of the strategy with a view to positioning Panama as the Global Route for H2V and its derivatives. The intention is to enhance its geographical location and infrastructure to supply the logistics, domestic, maritime, air and land transport sectors with renewable energy, and at the same time develop capacities that allow the establishment of an innovative market for this energy vector in the country. In the presentation ceremony, the Undersecretary of Energy, Rosilena Lindo G., provided details on the objectives, goals and main axes of the Green Hydrogen Strategy for 2030; 2040 and 2050. By 2030, 5% of the bunkering supply in Panama is expected to come from Green Hydrogen (H2V) and derivatives; and produce 500,000.00 tons of H2V and its derivatives locally. By 2040, it is expected that 30% of the bunkering supply in Panama will come from H2V and/or derivatives; and produce 2 million tons of H2V and its derivatives locally; In addition, that 20% of heavy load transport vehicles and machinery use H2V and its derivatives. The projection for 2050 is that the supply of bunkering reaches 40% and that the supply of energy for aviation comes from 30% of H2V, derivatives or SAF. |
