Work Detail The newly built Kwabenya Police Barrack in Ghana has been commissioned by President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo. The facility is for men and women who work as police officers in Ghana. It has 514 one and two-bedroom self-contained flats, of which 322 are completed and ready for use. These units are fitted with modern facilities and will provide cozy living quarters. In addition, they will have a favorable work atmosphere for police officers and their families. In addition to accommodation, this project offers a modern school, a clinic, an artificial football field, and a tennis court. As well as a backup generator, a police station, a gasoline filling station, a workshop enclave, and other necessities. According to Akufo-Addo, this project was developed as part of a public-private partnership with Unique Development Company. The President urged the Lands Commission and Unique Development Company, as well as the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, to work diligently on finishing the final 102 housing units and other facilities that make up the project’s second phase. Remarks on the Kwabenya Police Barrack in Ghana Speaking to the gathering at the ceremony, President Akufo-Addo said that since taking office in 2017, the government has started a number of programs targeted at alleviating Ghana’s housing shortage, which presently amounts to over two million units. The President claimed that despite these steps, the increased urbanization nevertheless places a tremendous strain on land resources and has resulted in the destruction of valuable lands, particularly in urban regions. “Consequently,” he said “the Lands Commission and the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources are launching a comprehensive urban regeneration initiative. With the goal of redeveloping popular areas in significant cities all over the nation. These cities include Kumasi Sector 18, the Marine Drive Tourism Development Project, and the Takoradi Beach Road Redevelopment Scheme, among others.”
