The pipeline should enable SNH to supply gas to a ceramic tile production plant in southern Cameroon
The National Hydrocarbons Company of Cameroon ( SNH ) has set a deadline of six months for the completion of the detailed environmental and social impact study (ESIA) of the gas pipeline project intended to supply natural gas to the production plant. of ceramic tiles from Keda Cameroon Ceramics Ltd. in Bipaga, Ocean department, South region, Cameroon.
This deadline is included in the national call for tenders launched by SNH for the recruitment of companies or groups of companies to carry out this ESIA. The deadline for submitting offers is April 21, 2023.
The Bipaga ceramic tile factory, which aims for a daily tile production of 50,000 square meters, will be built on a site of around 30 hectares. This is a project initiated by Keda Cameroon Ceramics, a subsidiary of Chinese Keda Industrial Co. Ltd.
As part of the opportunities of this project, SNH intends to meet the gas needs of this plant, estimated between 3.5 and 6.5 million cubic feet per day (MMSCFD/day) of natural gas, corresponding to a maximum of 45 billion cubic feet (BCF) over twenty (20) years. |
