There were three offers to carry out the works in the IDEVI irrigation canal
This will be the largest investment in the irrigation system in decades and will be carried out with financing from the World Banks Comprehensive Risk Management in the Rural Agroindustrial System (GIRSAR) program, managed before the Ministry of National Economy and executed by the Ministry of Production and Agroindustria from Rio Negro, within the framework of the public policies carried out by the current management of Governor Arabela Carreras on mitigation of climatic risks in food production.
The program, designed in conjunction with production technicians, IDEVI and DPA, also contemplates the institutional strengthening of the institute with the purchase of machinery and technical assistance for producers.
In the opening ceremony, held this morning in the Gray Room, the mayor of Viedma, Pedro Pesatti, pointed out that these works are "the largest investment made in IDEVI since the institute was created, due to the magnitude and the importance of the works that mean recovering 100% of the conduction capacity of the main canal and the possibility of being able to increase the irrigation area. We are facing a significant event for Viedma and for the Province”.
