Rumará, a company in the agri-food sector will start operations with a new factory located in the San Andrés de Giles area , for its operations it will use 408 solar panels.
With financing from BICE and the CreAr program, Rumará is going to build a plant to produce soybean oil that will use exclusively solar energy. Also, the project will allow you to export for the first time.

The announcement was made by Mariano de Miguel, and the head of the company, Gustavo Miroglio, during a meeting held at the headquarters of the BICE bank.
Mariano de Miguel: “Argentina is the third largest soybean producer in the world and fourth in soybean oil. Currently, a ton of soybeans is sold at around 600 dollars, while that of oil has an approximate value of 1,100 dollars; that is, almost 100 percent more. This marks the importance of this type of projects that add value and generate foreign currency for the country. They are the investments that are going to change the productive matrix of ours, because they promote productive development incorporating a sustainable and long-term perspective.”
The project consists of the construction of a 1,500 m2 warehouse that will house an extruded and oilseed processing plant to obtain expeller and refined soybean oil. It will have a photovoltaic solar generation system of 408 panels that will supply the electrical energy necessary for its operation, with the possibility of injecting excess energy into the network.
The president of Rumará, Gustavo Miroglio: “We are proud to be the first to produce green soybean oil in South America. The new plant, which we estimate will be ready in April this year, will allow us to carry out production using only renewable energy. We are not only making an innovative product to sell in the foreign market, but we are also doing it taking care of the environment.”
The main products sold by Rumará are: wheat, corn, soybeans, peas, carinata and rapeseed. Its production is located in the nine thousand hectares that the company works in the Buenos Aires city of San Andrés de Giles and surroundings. |
