Six projects have been beneficial in the national calls for Seed Starts and Expands promoted by Corfo in Chile.
The Corporation for the Promotion of Production (Corfo), a Government Agency under the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism, whose mission is to work and encourage productive development for Chile and its territories, has announced the winners of the Semilla Inicia program.
This seeks to help innovative ventures with high growth potential, in the prototype phase, supporting them in their technical and commercial validation in the market, and in this case, six projects have benefited.
Humberto Marín Leiva, director of Corfo Aysén, explained that the initiatives respond to different needs, and that, behind each of these projects, is "the effort and creativity of entrepreneurs who have rethought the way of doing things, looking for innovative solutions according to regional needs. They are initiatives with capacities to grow quickly and sustainably over time, that is, scalable and that allow us to diversify our business base, generating added value to our territory”.
Projects include a mushroom-based biomedicine laboratory; manufacture clothes with biodegradable and recyclable materials; make pellets with biomass; build sustainable shelters; produce heating based on green hydrogen and the development of advertising software using artificial intelligence.
Those related to clean energy include H2 Energy Clean Patagonia, which promotes the technical validation of a stove and its recharges that, with water and solar energy, manages to generate green hydrogen for heating.
Also the Eco-Sustainable Micro-Shelters project: Creation of the first network of Eco-Sustainable Micro-Shelters for remote places, with the possibility of operating connected to a system or with an autonomous energy source.
Finally, the Rent-E-Bike project with a non-CO2 charging station wants to strengthen its business model by making available to companies in the tourism sector an offer of electric bicycles with carbon-neutral (off-grid) charging stations through the rent.
These projects are added to another four from the end of 2022 that are financed with Corfo resources. |
