Work Detail Through Resolution 36/2023, a new tender will be launched to buy electricity generated by renewable sources from new plants. The deadline for submitting proposals and the auction date have not been announced. It was already announced by Marcelo Álvarez, member of the Board of Directors and coordinator of the Photovoltaic Solar Energy Committee of the Argentine Chamber of Renewable Energies (CADER), in an interview with pv magazine : “What happened was an uneven year; the expectations in this one are in the distributed generation and, finally, new tenders”. Thus, through Resolution 36/2023, the Ministry of Energy has resolved to summon those interested in submitting offers in the National and International Open Call "RenMDI" in order to celebrate Renewable Electricity Supply Contracts with the Market Administration Company Electricity Wholesaler Sociedad Anónima (CAMMESA). The call dates back to May of last year when, through Resolution No. 330, the countrys Secretary of Energy implemented an open call to receive Expressions of Interest (MDI) for infrastructure projects that contribute to incorporating renewable energies in points of the Trunk Distribution or Distribution Transportation network with the aim of adding renewable generation to supply the demand of the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI). Neither the resolution nor the terms and conditions mention a deadline for submitting proposals or the date for holding the auction. It does say that the call is divided into two lines called "Renewable Generation to replace Forced Generation" (Line 1) and "Renewable Generation to Diversify the Matrix" (Line 2), for a total required power of 620 MW. The first line is defined as regional and provincial for projects that allow substitution by a maximum power of 500 MW, for biomass, photovoltaic solar with and without storage and wind with storage technologies. Meanwhile, Line 2 is defined as federal, for projects that allow for the incorporation of small-scale renewable generation, for a Maximum Required Power of 120 MW, with quotas for technologies and totals, for biomass technologies that have not been awarded in Line 1, biogas, biogas from sanitary landfills and small hydroelectric developments. According to the specifications, the bids that are awarded will be subject to supply contracts for 15 years from the date of commercial authorization.
