Slovenia launches a discount program for rooftop photovoltaics linked to storage and heat pumps . The new Slovenian rebate program for rooftop solar has a budget of €10 million ($10.7 million). Bangladesh is offering a PPA for 68 MW of solar at $0.102/kWh . The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has agreed to buy solar electricity from a 68 MW facility being built in the countrys Sirajganj district, as part of a new state scheme to buy cheap power. Myanmar turns on 20 MW of solar power . Green Power Energy has successfully commissioned the Taung Daw Gwin solar project in Myit Thar (Myanmar). Its subsidiary Gold Energy won a tender to develop the 20 MW photovoltaic park. France awards 172.9 MW of solar capacity at an average price of $0.09/kWh . French authorities selected 66 projects in a recent tender for “innovative” photovoltaic technologies. The final average price was significantly lower than the maximum price. Austria deployed more than 1.4 GW of new solar power in 2022 . Austria joined the gigawatt club last year after deploying more than 1,000 MW of solar power for the first time. It has now reached more than 4.2 GW of cumulative installed PV capacity. Tunisia launches tenders for 1 GW of solar power . An international research team is evaluating the potential of flywheels for renewable energy storage in the Philippines. They have studied the use of a flywheel energy storage system developed by the American company Amber Kinetics. Taiwan maintains FIT tariffs for photovoltaics . The Taiwanese authorities have decided, once again, not to reduce the feed-in tariff (FIT) for photovoltaic energy, as originally planned, in order to support further deployment of solar energy. Austria allocates 650 million to solar incentives in 2023 . Austria is increasing its budget to support solar energy, in addition to new measures aimed at simplifying the approval processes for the deployment of photovoltaic systems.
