The province tendered the sewage effluent treatment plant for the city of Concordia, whose specific objectives are the expansion of drainage coverage and wastewater treatment.

According to reports, the construction work of the Concordia sewage treatment plant was re-tendered at the facilities of the Ministry of Planning, Infrastructure and Services.
It is worth remembering that it will be financed by the Inter-American Development Bank, through the Sanitation Program for the cities of the Uruguay River basin, whose official budget amounts to 5,734,810,450 pesos.
Two companies submitted their offers: the Transitory Union made up of Pietroboni – Panedile and JCR, and Ecosur Bahía SA, which will be studied by the Program Evaluation Commission.
The work
The configuration of the sanitation system proposes a single treatment plant for the entire city and for two peripheral neighborhoods, Villa Adela and Benito Legerén, and a unified sewage system with a main pumping station that will receive all the citys sewage collectors and will drive them to this floor.
The decision to build a single treatment plant and to concentrate all the treatment is due to the fact that the existing one located in Villa Adela has been very close to the population, which has grown notoriously in recent years.
The new treatment plant will be located in a property located to the south of the city, which is located very close to the mouth of the Arroyo Yuquerí Grande in the Uruguay River.
The project proposes that all the collectors, the existing ones and the new ones, come together in a new main pumping station, located in the southern zone, close to the current sewage pumping station of La Defensa Sur, where the effluent can be pumped to the single sewage plant. The final discharge of the effluent liquid from the treatment plant will be carried out in the Yuquerí stream, prior to its mouth in the Uruguay river.
