The Provincial Directorate of Sanitary Works and Services (DPOSS) is already executing the work of the new sewage effluent pre-treatment plant and its corresponding submarine outfall in the northern sector of the city of Río Grande. It is financed with non-reimbursable funds from the National Entity for Water Sanitation Works (ENOHSA) and will benefit some 50,000 residents.
The plant will treat household sewage effluents from a large sector of the city of Río Grande, which includes the industrial park, the neighborhoods Chacra 8, Chacra 9, Chacra 11, Chacra 12, Malvinas Argentinas, Altos de la Estancia, Los Cisnes , Vapor Amadeo, part of the INTEVU neighborhood and surrounding areas on both sides of the ring road.
A few days ago, the concreting of the base began where the main warehouse of the plant will be built, where the sieves, sand traps and other components of the pretreatment system will be located, which required about 40 cubic meters of concrete. The work continued on a second day where a similar amount of material was used.
The work will be complemented by an underwater outfall that will reach a distance from the coast that ensures that the sifted, sanded and degreased liquid can be dumped regardless of the tide level, guaranteeing its effectiveness in purification. The construction of an atmospheric truck dump and a material drying area is also planned.
The president of the DPOSS, Cristian Pereyra, highlighted the progress of this work and recalled that the entity in charge is also continuing with the construction of the Margen Sur sewage plant "which already has an advance of more than 40% and will treat to the effluents of that sector of the city, complemented by other works to be carried out or being carried out by the Province to achieve the objective that we have set ourselves of improving the quality of life of the residents and caring for the environment”. |
