The opening of envelopes with the technical and economic offers will be on December 16. These new works and the rearrangement of the space are designed to generate a sustainable tourism hub in which gastronomy, cultural visits, commerce and recreation coexist. “It is a very important job that materializes what we have been doing since the planning of the ministry. In this work there is a synergy of several disciplines where urban planning is linked to the themes of housing, commerce, tourism, culture and public spaces. In this way, there will be a new urban order”, stressed Minister Isgro. In the same sense, he assured that they continue planning works thinking about the Mendoza of the future. “Mendoza 2030-2050 must be projected, that is why we are planning cities in some parts of the territory that have to do with laboratories of how they should be in the future. In the case of Puente de Inca, we also work on how we make improvements that have a direct impact in the short or medium term,” he added. For his part, the Undersecretary of Public Works, Jorge Simoni, remarked that previously there was an arduous interdisciplinary work that concluded with the start of the call for bids. “It is a work of great impact, not only because of the investment it means for the provincial State but also because of the multiplicity of disciplines that its planning involves. It includes road works, railways, sanitation, networks, public space, heritage, commerce and housing. All this as a whole will allow to value a historical, cultural and tourist site of international level”, emphasized the official. Meanwhile, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Nora Vicario, highlighted that work is being done to carry out an unprecedented comprehensive development in Puente del Inca. “We want to promote the place as a pole for tourist and commercial activities. On the one hand, the activities and quality of life of the inhabitants will be ordered and substantially improved, but services and new experiences in high mountains will also be promoted. It is a revitalized node for economic development in Mendoza”, assured Vicario. This Strategic Plan will guarantee equal opportunities for local inhabitants in terms of economic growth, promoting the formalization of job sources. It will also substantially improve the quality of life in the town with a safe access and egress road system with adequate infrastructure. Likewise, it will allow planning the urban and architectural development of the town, to guarantee an increase in the number of visitors, promoting sustainable tourism that integrates local inhabitants into the social fabric. In addition, it will generate a system of universal and inclusive accessibility to public spaces, safeguarding the cultural and natural heritage of the sector to be intervened. It covered an extensive geographical area, from the center west of Argentina and Chile to the south west of Colombia.
