General Pirán: retrofitting and expansion of the Sewage Treatment Plant
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services of the Province of Buenos Aires, through the Undersecretary of Water Resources, carried out the tender for the retrofitting and expansion of the General Pirán Sewage Treatment Plant, which will benefit the residents of the town with a 20-year projection. The General Secretary, Walter Wischnivetzky, participated in it and stated: "The mayor Jorge Paredi dealt with the issue and we work together with the government of the province of Buenos Aires in works that transform and improve the quality of life of the people of Marchiquitens" .
The General Pirán plant, which is more than 50 years old, presents operational difficulties, which is why it is essential to add value to the existing facilities, which include adaptation and/or replacement of electromechanical equipment such as the pumping station, the grating chamber and unloading of atmospheric trucks. Wischnivetzky participated in the bidding for the work together with General Piráns delegate, Horacio Ferreyra, and highlighted the importance of the work for the town: "The work has a future projection for a horizon of 20 years, it is essential to carry out work to put value the existing installations and to replace the equipment”.
In this way, through the Undersecretary of Water Resources, in charge of Guillermo Jelinski, the tender for the work to be carried out at the General Pirán Sewage Treatment Plant was carried out. The Secretary General expressed: "We want to thank the government of the province of Buenos Aires and highlight the constant joint work to improve the quality of life of the residents of the Mar Chiquita Party." And he recalled: “The Treatment Plant was built in the early 1970s and approximately 8 years ago, tasks were carried out to clean lagoons, repair slopes and adapt civil and electromechanical works. However, after the survey and evaluation of the general condition of the plant, it was concluded that it has serious operating difficulties”.
