The work benefits the entire community of Alvear
The Province, through the Undersecretary of Water Resources under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services, tendered the work "General Alvear Water Treatment Plant" for the homonymous party with an official budget of $ 496,102,824.00 in which a total of two offers were submitted.
The water treatment plant will have a minimum drinking water production capacity of 100 cubic meters per hour, divided into at least 2 modules. Likewise, it seeks to replace the existing mobile dam in the Piñeyro Canal in order to achieve a more efficient operation of the flows that drain through said channel.
It should be noted that the projected work will fulfill the same function as the existing one but will increase its dispensing capacity by increasing the hydraulic section, which until now is insufficient, resulting in an obstacle to normal runoff in times of flooding that produce significant and prolonged flooding. in the campsite and spa that develops in its vicinity; At the same time, it will make flow management more efficient, since it will have manual lifting gates.
In this regard, the Undersecretary of Water Resources, Guillermo Jelinski, expressed: "It is a great joy for us because we are complying with the mandate of the governor, Axel Kicillof, who asked us to reach all the municipalities of the province of Buenos Aires with water and sanitation. ”, and added “water is a human right that we must strongly highlight, which is why our minister, Leonardo Nardini, has encouraged us to carry out all this type of work, not only piping works but also purification works, which in many places are so fundamental.”
For his part, the mayor for the Frente de Todos de General Alvear, Miguel Dornaco, said: "It is a long-awaited work by the people of Alvear that begins to solve underlying problems with the problem of drinking water."
