Colombian electricity service provider Air-e and German solar project developer ABO Wind have signed a power supply agreement (PPA) for a 15-year, 10 MW project.
A statement explains that the project is already being developed and work is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2023, with the start of energy supply agreed for early 2024.
It is also added that it is a contract to pay what is generated conditionally, a modality in which the buyer agrees to pay a percentage of the contracted energy, regardless of whether or not it is consumed, although with the right to use it during the following twelve months. to said payment.
Air-e, a home public service provider of electricity in the departments of Atlántico, Magdalena and La Guajira, announced last March a private tender for nearly 200 MW, equivalent to lighting more than 170,000 homes.
The Irish Mainstream Renewable Power and Abo Wind were awarded the auction.
In fact, Mainstream signed a PPA last April starting in 2024 and for a period of 15 years with Air-e for the 100 MW that it was awarded , linked to a photovoltaic plant of that capacity that it will build in the municipality of Toluviejo, department from Sucre.
In addition to those mentioned, the Spanish Cox Energy and the French Greenyellow were also chosen to sign future long-term contracts.
For ABO Wind, this means its second PPA in the country, after doing the same a month ago with the Colombian electricity company Grupo Renovatio , a 15-year contract for 43 GWh from a 20 MW photovoltaic plant starting in the spring of 2023, presented as the most advanced project of the German company in Colombia - where it has been operating for almost 3 years and claims to have a project portfolio of around 600 MW - and which is expected to be fully approved and built this year. |
