The Korean manufacturer has launched a new bifacial module based on M10 wafers and plans to produce larger modules based on M12 wafers starting in the third quarter.
SDN Co Ltd, a South Korean supplier of photovoltaic modules and marine propulsion systems, has recently started production of a new series of glass bifacial modules with a power rating of up to 550W at its factory in Gwangju, Southwest Korea.
“We are also planning to launch the production of two new M12 wafer-based solar modules rated at 590W and 650W, respectively, in the third quarter of this year,” the manufacturer said in a statement.
The new module, named SunDay 10, uses 144 half-cut monocrystalline cells based on M1o wafers and busbar technology. It is available in three versions with a power rating of 540 W to 550 W and a power conversion efficiency ranging from 20.89% to 21.28%. The open circuit voltage is between 49.50 V and 49.80 V and the short circuit current is between 13.85 A and 13.99 A.
The panel measures 2,279mm x 1,134mm x 35mm and weighs 32.8kg. It is constructed of 2mm anti-reflective tempered glass and an aluminum alloy frame. It also features an IP68 enclosure and the maximum system voltage is 1500V. The panel has a temperature coefficient of -0.39% per degree Celsius and its operating temperature ranges from -40C to 85C.
The new product has a 30-year linear power warranty and a 10-year product warranty. The degradation in the first year is supposed to be 2.5% and the final power at 30 years is guaranteed to be no less than 83.0% of the nominal output power.
SDN has announced that it plans to start production of the new module in September 2021. The company is also active in the business of distributed generation and the development of large-scale projects. He has developed several solar parks in Bulgaria, Japan and his home country. Its shipbuilding division supplies outboard motors for fishing and pleasure boats. |
