Work Detail The 17 large-scale photovoltaic projects are located in the departments of Valle del Cauca, Tolima, Santander and Sucre. They use 650,000 solar panels and are built through the C2 Energía investment platform in alliance with Cubico Sustainable Investments. The Colombian energy company Celsia has 17 solar power plants under construction in the country during 2022. Each of these projects exceeds 8 MW of capacity, and its development is done through the C2 Energía investment platform in alliance with the company from the United Kingdom Cubico Sustainable Investments: both companies joined forces in 2019 to build 400 MW of photovoltaics in Colombia and later created a joint-venture focused on transmission lines in Colombia called Caoba. The investment in the construction of the 17 farms will exceed one billion pesos. Two of them are in the final energization process, one in the Valley and the other in Sucre, and the others are under development, advancing civil works. Among the 17 solar farms, about 650,000 solar panels will be installed, and they will occupy 350 hectares of land. Eight of them will be installed in Valle del Cauca (109.2 MW); five, in Tolima (69.5 MW); three in Chicamocha, Santander (59.7 MW); and one in Sucre (19.9 MW). Celsia already has 132 MW of solar power in Colombia, Panama and Honduras; The companys goal is to complete 30 farms under construction between 2022 and 2023, and in four years to reach 1 GW (in farms, floors and roofs) and generate more than 5,000 jobs during the construction processes.
